Design Distinction 1: Stage / Backstage Design
The Worship Center stage & backstage area had to be designed with maximum functionality and program flexibility to incorporate everything the church wanted to accomplish, far into the future. To accomplish this, we first designed an opening, without a traditional proscenium, to separate down & upstage areas. Next, we optimized sight lines for the video side screens by rigging them with truss frames, angled off the side walls. Next, we designed a theatrical overhead rigging grid to suspend drapes, cycs, lights, etc. from the mid stage position, forward. The last design element we did was for the future provision of up to 9, separate video projection systems that could be edge blended and image processed to fill in the center mid-stage opening with various sized and shaped rear projection screens, or scrims. In addition, we designed a video confidence monitor system on stage. The church is pleased and is using the system with great creativity, impact and effectiveness!
Design Distinction 2: A/V Distribution & Interface System
The original A/V distro & interface design provided for the distribution of HD video and stereo audio signals from iMacs, DVD players, MP3 players, and the FOH audio console to the worship center, backstage areas & green room, technical control room, main foyer & second level lobbies. In addition, these A/V sources could be sent to a yet to be built Chapel & extensive classroom facility framed into the second level of the facility. Part of the interface uses a very low cost RF signal format and, higher resolution parts of the system utilized HD Digital Video & Stereo Audio over CAT5E wiring. A specialized A/V Matrix mixer provides routing for the system. The church leadership is very pleased with the capability of routing HD Video & Audio everywhere they need it within the new facility......
