Design Distinction 3: HD Video Production System

The church directed Omega to design, engineer and interface an HD video production system, however, the system had to be value-engineered a number of times to meet the financial budget. A traditional HD video production system with live HD cams & remote studio shading and control capabilities was simply too expensive to consider. Omega saved the church tens of thousands of dollars by engineering each HD cam studio cable interface and by providing full HD/SDI signal capability from each cam to the studio. We then utilized a series of format converters to match the studio signal sources, rather than using a typical digital video routing or matrix switcher. The result is a system that provides a full HD/SDI interface from cameras to main switcher and then out to 3 video projection systems and a studio HD/VTR. This makes the interface viable for any HD/SDI camera or component upgrade in the future.

In addition, we utilized 2 existing video projectors and matched the color gamut to a new center screen video projection system.  All 3 projectors are digital DLP format and the images are edge blended onto 3 custom screens suspended over the platform. This provides the church fairly even color matching and brightness across the screen array.
